Responsibilities of a waiter/waitress include greeting and serving customers, providing detailed information on the menu, multitasking with various restaurant duties, and handling the accounting. To be successful as a waiter/waitress, you must treat customers with courtesy and ensure they enjoy their meal. You must also be a team player and communicate effectively with the kitchen staff to ensure that orders are accurate and prompt. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Major Duties) Administrative Duties ? Create and update the Operations Manual. ? Conduct regular meetings and ensure that briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as required. ? Liaise with the culinary department. ? Ensure that all reservations in the system are up to date and accurate and follow up on special guest treatments. Utilize the system to the fullest, create a database and update customer profiles. Customer Satisfaction ? Ensure that all employees deliver on the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times. ? Ensure that team members provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as well, as required. ? Observe team member-guest interactions in public areas, converse with guests, and coach team members in guest service skills through department heads as required. ? Ensure all guest and internal customer complaints are resolved quickly and efficiently. ? Maintain positive interactions with guests and co-workers while maintaining good interpersonal relationships. FINANCE ? Multitask and proactively work to improve efficiency. ? Take good care of hotel equipment and tableware. OPERATIONS ? Welcome guests and escort them to their table. ? Present menus and provide detailed information (portions, ingredients, possible food allergies, etc.) if requested. ? Set table with linen, silver, dishware and glassware. ? Inform guests of daily specials. ? Provide menu recommendations upon request. ? Upsell additional items as needed. ? Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS ordering software, order pads etc. ? Communicate order details to kitchen staff. ? Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms. ? Place amenities in designated locations HUMAN RESOURCES ? Maintain exemplary personal appearance. ? Ensure complete understanding and adherence to Associate Rules. ? Provide feedback on the results of the Associate Engagement Survey and ensure relevant changes are implemented. ? Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and transparency are maintained at all times. Other Duties ? Understand and adhere to the rules set out in the Associate Handbook and hotel policies on fire, hygiene, and safety. ? Adapt to changes in the Food & Beverage department as directed by the industry, company, and hotel. ? Attend training sessions and meetings as required. ? Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Other ?
